We are now looking for a Director, Global Marketing to join our team at UPM Adhesive Materials Business Area. You will have an elementary role in driving UPM’s market presence and growth globally in the Adhesive Materials business. This position is located in Helsinki, Finland.

What you will do

You will be responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies and impactful tactics that drive business growth, elevate brand recognition and value through optimizing the brand portfolio, and engage key internal and external stakeholders within the business globally. This strategic, hands-on role calls for a commercially minded, full-stack marketer with strong creative instincts, proven campaign expertise, and deep marketing experience in a global environment. You will be a member of the Adhesive Materials’ Marketing, Sustainability and Communications management team.

In addition, you will:

• Drive, develop and execute marketing and communication strategies and impactful tactics in the growing Adhesive Materials business globally

• Drive and develop brand strategy and tactics in the business, including driving brand recognition and brand value through optimizing and further developing the brands and brand portfolio

• Develop value-based marketing strategies, including value proposition development, market positioning, channel development, demand generation, and multi-channel go-to-market plans

• Lead digital marketing strategy and development including marketing and sales alignment and marketing impact measurement

• Ensure consistent and compelling brand messaging across all channels, while localizing global narratives for relevance in key markets

• Use data and customer insights to guide decision-making, continuously optimize marketing performance, and improve the impact

• Lead and further develop a high-performing marketing team and strengthen marketing operations through scalable processes, tools, and best practices that drive efficiency and long-term capability development

Who you are 

• You have a relevant university level degree and + 7 years of experience of leading and executing impactful marketing

• You have a strong understanding of effective marketing channels and tactics, with proven ability of developing and executing data-driven marketing campaigns with measurable business results

• You have strong experience in brand development and brand portfolio optimization and marketing

• You excel in content strategy and development, including messaging, storytelling, and product value propositions

• You know how to align marketing strategy with commercial targets

• You collaborate seamlessly with sales, product-, and business development teams in cross-functional setups

• You’re fluent in using digital marketing platforms, automation tools, and CRM systems

• You bring strong leadership, excellent communication, and project management skills

• You have excellent written and spoken English

• You are proactive, flexible and solution focused and manage pressure effectively, set priorities and are a quick learner
